Palestinian photographer Salama Safadi creates critical and impressive narratives through photographs inspired by the struggles facing Palestinians and their homeland under Israeli occupation. His work is inspired by the first-hand experience; Safadi was born in Majdal Shams, occupied Golan Heights, in 1981. Through his photographs, he tells stories of struggle, revolt, faith and survival. In this image, signposts can be viewed as a cross, where Palestinian identity and history are crucified. In 2008, Safadi was named one of the young artists of the year by the Qattan Foundation.
